"Throne of Atlantis" continues! Aquaman can barely hold on against Ocean Master even with the League by his side! The United States loses faith in the Justice League and enters the battle against Atlantis, setting in motion the creation of the Justice League of America! More on the Superman/Wonder Woman alliance! Plus: In the backup story, the origin of Shazam! continues!

Synopsis

While Cyborg saves Dr. Shin, Orm ups the attack on Boston and sends Aquaman and his allies to the dark waters.

Summary

Vulko tells Cyborg that they need to save Dr. Shin, and sure enough Victor reaches Shin just before an elite Atlantean unit called the Drift get to Shin.

Aquaman is unable to get his fellow heroes to comprehend how idiotic they are being even though he's tangled up in the Lasso of Truth while trying to explain it to them. The heroes attack Orm, leading to the Atlantean army rising from the water and shooting Wonder Woman. Superman gets peeved and starts to boil the water, so Orm calls down lightning on him and Wonder Woman, then sends Aquaman and his allies to the Dark Waters.

Realizing that he is going to need a little more help, Cyborg calls in reinforcements while he undergoes surgery to allow him to survive underwater.

Comments

Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are acting like somebody removed their brains. Seriously, they are simply being totally, out-of-character-ly moronic. While it's nice to see Aquaman kicking butt, having to kick butt because his fellow heroes ate dumb pills this morning is just ridiculous.

Dr. Morrow working for STAR labs continues to be nerve-inducing, especially as he's talking about a weather android... hmmm.

The Drift includes someone named Tula. More of the classic Aquaman family coming through.

Orm says that his crown controls the oceans and his trident controls the storms. He has weather manipulation abilities, which is how he zapped Superman and Wonder Woman and put them out long enough to send them to the Dark Waters.

Characters: Vulko, Cyborg, Dr. Shin, The Drift (including Tula), Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Orm, Atlantean soldiers, Silas Stone, Dr. Morrow

Locations: JL Satellite, Boston, STAR Labs
