The conclusion to "The Others"! The traitor in the team is revealed! Who is Black Manta working for?

Synopsis

A member of the team dies when The Others arrive to help Aquaman fight Black Manta.

Summary

The Others contact Mera and rendezvous with her. Introductions are made.

Meanwhile, on the island, Manta has the scepter and is about to kill Shin when Aquaman intervenes.

Manta uses the scepter to bring down the tomb around them, but Mera and the Others arrive before he can finish a trapped Aquaman off. Aquaman tries to get the Others and Mera to leave, and tells Mera that he isn't the man she thinks he is.

In the fight, Ya'wara attacks Shin, but is stopped by Vostok. Aquaman maintains Shin's innocence to Ya'wara and tells the group he is going after Manta alone.

Manta attacks Aquaman but Vostok jumps in the way. Vostok dies, telling Aquaman that his greatest desire - to not die alone - has been granted. Aquaman vows to kill Manta.

Comments

This issue features the usual 1:25 B&W variant wraparound cover along with a Robot Chicken variant promoting the DC Special (in which Aquaman takes on the League and pretty much wipes the floor with them).

The Scepter of the Dead King is in the tomb. Among the decorations of the tomb are statues of The Trench. Seems like a strong indication that the Dead King knew about them.

The preview is misleading at best, flat out wrong at worst. No traitor is revealed in this issue.

The final splash page says "Next month Arthur heads off to find Atlantis in Aquaman #0 and two months from now the epic conclusion to The Others in Aquaman #13!"

Characters: The Operative, Ya'wara, Vostok, Prisoner-of-War, Aaron, Black Manta, Dr. Shin

Locations: Dr. Shin's house, The Living Room, The Tomb of the Dead King
