Aquaman and Mera flee Xebel to return to Atlantis, only to find the city under attack by Scavenger's men.
At Belle Reve, the trio who set out to free Orm learns of the attack on Atlantis and have to make a decision.
Urn sacrifices his life for Aquaman, who summons Topo to the aid of the city. Topo destroys the Scavenger's subs, but Nereus and the Dead King arrive to take over the city.
Aquaman collapses from the strain of controlling Topo and wakes up six months later in Vulko's care.

Tula doesn't want to kill surfacers and start another war, but Murk is perfectly willing to take out as many as possible to save Orm. Swatt again threatens to reveal Murk's secret.

I'm curious how the Scavenger could gather an army big enough to take on all the forces of Atlantis. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
 
The next month's books are the villain books with gimmicky 3D motion covers. One for Orm and one for Black Manta. We won't learn what happened with Aquaman until two months later. This book also gives Aquaman a reason for being missing during the Forever Evil event. However, Aquaman's appearance in Justice League of America during the event indicates that DC didn't take advantage of it.
