The Largest Transdermal Horns

February 20th, 2008

Josh who is a friend of mine in Florida (God for bid you do any modification in Florida-he came to me in sunny Arizona) had me do 2 gauge transdermal horns. He recently sent me some special bent titanium to create huge horns for his forehead. They are only three ounces in combined weight. They have special centers that have 360 degree axis adjustment so once the centers have been tightened to the transdermal the horns can be aligned in which ever direction he prefers. The labor of this project was performed by Willow and the quality of his work is obvious in the photo.

Valentine’s Day hearts

February 15th, 2008

This year it was Cookies turn to do Valentine’s Day….I woke up to find my living room turned into some sort of magical sexy valentines day land! I thought Valentine’s Day would be appropriate to debut my cast silicone heart shaped implants! I also have about six other items which I will post over the next day or two. On an interesting side note, my finger which the magnet is in is almost three years old. While setting up for one of my fetish balls (azfetishball.com) last week I took a slice right over the top of it, but not to deep. The cut is healing with no signs of rejection.

My Magnetic Implant

October 5th, 2007

I have had a magnetic implant for just over 1 year in my left ring finger. It is a second generation injection coated silicone implant. When I got it I was more nervous from the cutting than would the magnet last. Now after a year, the scar is almost invisible and the magnet is stable. I have not had any degrading effects nor any other negative side effects.

I work as a full time web designer and I use my fingers A LOT. For the first week it was uncomfy with the stich in there (1 stich). And it did require me to be careful not to high five too hard or root through my pockets. BUT it has not negatively impacted my work, play or daily life. In 30 years who knows, but I strongly disagree that it will cause “serious side effects to the functionality of your hand” as earlier mentioned in BMEzine. I suspect if the implant was in every finger that may happen but as far as I know, that has not occurred. OR if you are doing a profession that requires constant touching of magnets or steel that may happen. But as a web designer it hasn’t yet and I type A LOT with the implant right in the tip of my finger.

I love the magnetic vision and I love knowing this is steel and this is aluminum with my eyes closed (because steel is magnetic) I love putting my finger near an electrical socket and feeling the magnetic impulses flow. This wont change your life, it simply adds a new perspective to it :)

CooKie throws a great birthday party

August 9th, 2007

Every year CooKie does something special for my birthday. This year she threw a surprise party at one of the Pussy Posses favorite lesbian bars. The co-founder of the posse Zen created quite a unique birthday card which was written all over her body (lucky me)! I am getting back on track with my life and putting my nose back to the grindstone. More blogs coming soon.

A Need To Change

June 23rd, 2007

I went to the VNV Nation concert tonight and was surrounded by hundreds of modified peoples of all walks of life, professions, characters, religions and such. I had this unbelievable urge to get more brandings. It was like a burning in my soul to be more unique. Not different because I think that is a negative; but more unique. Maybe it is semantics depending on the perspective. I know that I am definitely craving it. I am not addicted to the branding, I am addicted to the changing. I don’t like that it hurts but I like that every time it is done I change a bit more mentally, physically, emotionally. Just some random thoughts for tonight.

Death of our son.

There are a lot of questions and a lot of rumors floating around. I hope this gives you the answers you need and puts a stop to the rumors. Please understand that what you are about to read might be hard to hear. You do not have to read this if you are not ready. It will be here for you when you are.

Steven had been working at Pizza Hut as a delivery boy. While on a run to deliver pizza’s he was heading down 16th St at about Glendrosa when a truck abruptly slowed down to turn right. Steven was speeding and changed lanes quickly and lost control of his car. When he over corrected his car rolled a few times and went into a pole. No, he was not wearing his seatbelt. He immediately was unconscious and was actually pronounced dead at the scene, even though police are not supposed to do that. No one else was injured or in the vehicle.

When the paramedics arrived they had to tear apart the car to pull Steven from it. An officer found his cell phone and called Steve to notify us that Steven was going to the hospital and he was breathing.

When we arrived at the hospital an officer told us that he didn’t make it. Obviously, we were devastated. The officer wasn’t sure if it was our son since he didn’t have his wallet. We told him about the Trilobite brand on his chest as an identifying mark. The officer went back to check to see if the brand was on him. He came back to notify us that his heart started beating again and the doctors were working on him full force. They said they had never seen anything like that. He had been without a pulse for 5 minutes.

Friends and family came down waiting with us to hear what was happening. A doctor came into visit us and explained that he was stabilized for the moment and that they were doing a mobile X-ray on him. He explained that they had to wait till he was stabilized more to do a cat scan to determine where the bleeding was coming from so they could stop it, as that was the major issue at the moment. After the X-ray they let us into the room to visit Steven while we waited on the results. I will not speak about his condition. I will say, however, there was a light in his eyes and Junior was holding my hand. We told him we loved him and that he was strong. We sat with him talking about all of the love he had waiting for him outside and promised we would be there when he woke up. We gave him all of the encouraging words we could think of. We had to leave when another trauma patient was being brought in.

All of us waited, very impatiently, outside for results. We knew he was going to make it even though he had a long road of recovery ahead of him. Finally, after what seems like hours of waiting, the doctor came out and asked to speak to us privately. He informed us that Steven had fractured multiple vertebrae’s in his neck, there was severe hemorrhaging, his blood pressure was dropping and his pulse was slowing downing. They couldn’t stop the bleeding enough to move him to do the cat scan he needed to find out where it was coming from. The doctor was trying his best to politely explain that Steven wasn’t going to make it. Since his brain hadn’t had oxygen for so long even if they could pull him back they couldn’t guarantee the state of his life. We asked if there was anyway that they could stabilize him enough to get cat scan and figure out what was wrong. They said there wasn’t at this time but if they wanted us to keep working on him they would. We told them to keep working on him and we went back to sit with him.

When we saw Steven his eyes were cold and he no longer held my hand. The nurses said that he had been heavily sedated and that his blood pressure was still dropping. We realized we had to let him go. At this point we were only holding on for selfish reasons. We gave the nurses the go ahead and sat there with him. We told him we loved him and to just relax. We weren’t sure if he could hear us but incase he could we talked to him till the end. He moved very peacefully on to the next world with no pain. Steve was the first person to hold his son coming into this world and we were the last to hold him as heft us.

Steven Jr. was a charming, intelligent, hopeless romantic. He was also stubborn, persistent and irresponsible… but what 18 year old isn’t? He was our boy and we loved him. He had come so far with his struggles life had presented him. With the help of his Steve and CooKie, uncle, aunt and grandpa he was growing into what a man should be. We are all proud of you, Steven, thank you for being apart of our lives.

Steven Jr. had only one modification thus far. He had his father’s Trilobite symbol branded on the right side of his chest, which he was very proud of. Tonight, Steve and I branded the logo on each other in honor of our son. CooKie also shaved her head in honore of our boy, which you will see pics of below

We would love to have you attend the Memorial Service for Junior. We will have an area set up in the front of the podium with pictures and other memorable items. We will also have a place for you all to set any letters written to him that you would like to share. We will add them to a book that we will keep with him until we determine what to do with his ashes. The book will be buried with him if that is the direction we choose however, we haven’t gotten that far in the process yet. We would love to have you all attend, and celebrate the life of Steven A. Haworth Jr.

Yes It Fucking Hurts…

March 31st, 2007

Many know me as the guy that has the brandings and part of the AZFetishball (Horns n Halos)..the big project I am working on that will take about 3 years. I like showing them off and people like looking at them. I am not the only one that has electro cauterary branding; CooKie, Amanda, JD, Mercedes, April and Steve’s son plus at least 30 more I know of have them. I know they all like to show off their brandings too. So to answer the question for the masses, yes it fucking hurt..usually “why?” is the next question…It’s not a simple answer but I hope in reading my blog you may find out some things about me that help you answer “why” for yourself and maybe open a new vision of you at the same time.

Steve and I are at the Tampa Tattoofest which is an amazing event put on by Bruce Ripley. We spent a lot of time at the H2Ocean booth which really is one of the all time best healing aids out there and works super awesome on brandings too. We saw some extra-ordinary tattoos but Florida is a fucked up state where flesh hook suspension, scarification, implants and dare I say brandings are illegal. This is due to some very narrow-minded legislators that think these activities should be done by the medical profession even though that same medical profession doesnt want anything to do with them here. See the catch-22? Therefore we were unable to do any “work” :( Mark from Ft Lauderdale got a new set of extra long horns for his 8 year old transdermals. Anyone that says transdermals are “temporary” should see Mark and how his have healed so great that even with the extra weight there was zero sag.

So here we are on Saturday night going home on Monday, got a whole day to chill and sleep and look at the hotties. Tampa is kind of fun though I miss Phoenix and the hotties there (you know who you are)

Tampa Tattoofest!

March 31st, 2007

Me and Mitch are spending the weekend at the Tampa Tattoofest Convention. I did seminars and had the opportunity to meet many new friends in the process. I would like to thank Bruce Ripley (who runs the convention) for being a gracious host and also H2ocean for covering airfare.

I ran into one of my old friends at the convention. Mark Lichtenberg had commissioned transdermal horns in November 1999 and has worn the the same size spike for eight years. I brought him much larger spikes and I think he was pretty happy!

Mark is a great example of the success of transdermals when placement, material and aftercare are implemented correctly. Mark is an amazing body piercer and one of the kindest souls I have met. He has also been a collector of other various mods in which are pretty obvious in the picture to the right.

I also had the opportunity to meet Mark’s lovely fiance Colleen who has beautiful tattoo work, Mark’s a lucky guy!

CooKies chest work

March 10th, 2007

CooKie has always had unique symbolism to all of her modifications. The first implant she had placed in her chest was the Infiniti symbol in 2001. The next was the two crescent moons in 2003. Then came the two large 7/8 half cut beads in 2005. Then in 2006 she had laser branding enhancing her implants.

Definitely my favorite chest work, they even make Hawaii look good!
