COMMENTS:

Tempest the ballet dancer on the cover! I really dislike this cover, as it features three of my favorite characters and they all look ugly. Aquaman is almost ok, but Tempest and Deep Blue are just badly drawn. There is a blob creature in the lower right of the image, but Battle's bubbles and El Blobbo look almost the same. The coloring distinguishes them, which is a nice change. Sadly, it doesn't contrast quite enough, and still looks bland.

For a "fun" comparison, take all the covers done by Eric Battle and colored by the Hories and put them side by side. Then take five or six covers from the PAD run and put them side by side. The Battle ones all look annoyingly alike, they all use the same colors and by the more recent ones they have gotten to be the same old thing. The PAD ones were almost universally by guest artists, and looked interesting and different every month. I think DC ought to go back to guest artists for the Aquaman covers, as Battle's art isn't cutting it.

Review of the story will come when I read it. It won't be anytime soon.
