OVERVIEW:

The fanatic reveals his name to be Queequeg, and he appear to be completely, utterly, nuts. He launches a bunch of ordinance at Aquaman, who quickly defeats him anyway.

King Firtf is asked for five men, and promised rule over Poseidonis.

Arriving in New York, Aquaman promptly collapses.

When he wakes up he learns of another problem he has to deal with. Garth has been badly injured, and the Teen Titans can't help him. He takes Garth to his home, Crastinus, and the Idylists. And then returns to New York.

Iqula decides to act against his King.

J'onn tries to discuss Aquaman's telepathy with him, while wandering around New York and getting a new outfit to wear in official capacity.

In Poseidonis, the statue to honor Marin, who sacrificed herself for Aquaman, is dedicated.

Aquaman is giving a press conference when Black Manta interrupts. He and J'onn take on the villain and his Tritonian escort. Iqula joins the fight against Manta, and captures his fellow Tritonians, freeing Aquaman to pursue Manta alone.

Manta destroys Mercy Reef, where Arthur built a monument to his dead son. Arthur swears he will kill Manta.

COMMENTS:

Good cover, yet again.

Lady S'ona shares Aquaman's powers, her hair under that covering must be blonde. She thinks she can handle herself while Lord Iqula rebels.

J'onn has many concerns about Aquaman, and shows his friendship with Arthur clearly, yet again. It's amazing that some people don't realize how close they are: fellow telepaths, both led the Justice League in times of crisis, both lost their families.

Manta is as nasty as ever, and completely insane yet again. His only goal is to destroy "the sea" and to him, Aquaman is "the sea".

There are some humourous moments as Aquaman gets a suit to wear in front of the press.

CONCLUSION:

Rating: 8

Quite good. The bits with J'onn and Aquaman together are great.
