"Sea of Storms" begins with the debut of new Aquaman writer Jeff Parker! The Earth's crust is grinding to life, releasing deadly volcanoes and bizarre creatures... so humanity's first instinct is to blame Atlantis! Synopsis

Aquaman is torn between his duties to Atlantis and his life as a superhero when an ancient Atlantean beast attacks Iceland.

Summary

Somewhere in the North Atlantic, a submarine tries to cut through the carapace of an ancient Atlantean see creature.

In Amnesty Bay, a man trying to find Arthur Curry runs into a wall of silence from the locals.

Aqauaman and Mera rescue from Atlantean engineers from a lava vent in a geothermal fissure. Aquaman is reminded that he is missing the royal forum. At the forum, the councilors are a little miffed that Aquaman is absent. Commander Neol defends Aquaman, noting that he was rescuing Atlanteans. Aquaman arrives late, with Mera, and asks for engineers to be assigned to the fissure problem.

When the councilors leave, Aquaman asks his remaining advisers, Kae and Marga, what the councilors really think. Kae is diplomatic, Marga tells Aquaman that the council thinks he is more concerned with the surface world than Atlantis.

They are interrupted by news of a monster attacking Reykjavik, and Mera launches Aquaman at it with her powers. Aquaman hits it hard, but it doesn't go down. Mera summons the council and they identify the creature as the Karaqan, a beast that answers to the royal family of Atlantis to protect the realm.

Aquaman attempts to control the beast with his mind as Atlantis sends help.
