In the flashback we learn that Aquaman's great-grandmother ran the lighthouse before Tom Curry took it over. Her husband was lost in the great New England hurricane of '38, according to Tom. She ran the lighthouse for more than 40 years before Tom took over when she passed away until the officials could find someone else to do the job. During that time he met Aquaman's mother, then decided to stay at the lighthouse.
Ok... so Tom took over the lighthouse from his grandmother, who ran it for more than 40 years, starting in 1938. That means that Tom came to the lighthouse between 1979-1986, roughly. Give or take. He met Aquaman's mother, she had Arthur around nine months after they met. Let's say, between 1980-1987 or so. Give or take. If Art graduated from high school at 18, the latest he could have graduated in this continuity is about 2005... which puts the ten year reunion in the next issue right on schedule.
It also means that this Aquaman is younger than me. Oi!
