OVERVIEW:

On the trail of notorious criminal Jed Rowe, Aquaman takes time to teach Aqualad tricks about surviving for more than an hour on dry land.

COMMENTS:

This issue really covers all of Aquaman's roles on the ocean. As he says himself, "On patrol, I'm everything! Mailman, policeman, doctor, fireman... you name it! I'll do anything to help people at sea!" And in this story, he does quite a bit. He starts by delivering mail, then goes after the bad guys on sea and land, saves an airplane, treats injuries to a giant manta ray and a swordfish, polices disobedient members of a yacht club, and gets the bad guys in the end.

Aquaman saves himself and Aqualad with snow, goat's milk (!), water in the radiator of an old car, and by triggering the sprinkler system in a building.

CONCLUSION:

A big lesson in Aquaman's abilities, but not much else.
