OVERVIEW:

The populace is poised to take back the city. Better organized, more motivated, they have the poison and know the enemy.

So of course, Mera jumps the gun by finding Aquaman and alerting the militia to his presence. He attacks Mera's attackers, and is then attacked by Mera, who now blames him for Artie, Jr.'s death. They fight while the revolt starts.

The revolt is successful, the jellyfish killed by the poison. The remaining militia surrender.

Mera and Aquaman fight, then Mera is impaled on a piece of debris. While the sounds of joyful success resonate aroundd the city, Aquaman mourns his wife.

COMMENTS:

I don't really like the cover of this one.

Most of the issue is fighting. Not much substance.

Jellyfish?

Another essay by Mark Waid chronicles Aquaman's discovery of Aqualad, then his achievement of his first solo series.

CONCLUSION:

Rating: 6

Too much fighting and not much plot.
