Wonder Woman and Aquaman get medical attention for Black Manta so they can find out why the Wonder Scouts were killed. He tells them that a demon promised to give him a human body if he killed the scouts. He gives them directions to the cave where he encountered the "demon", and they find Triton, son of Poseidon, in the cave, transformed into a monster. Diana breaks free and kills Triton.
Yet more development for Manta, as his main purpose now is simply in searching for his lost humanity, and he doesn't care what nastiness he has to do to accomplish that goal. Why he was near death, though, is a bit of a mystery. I would guess that Triton didn't keep his word, and the Gorgomaids dragged his body back to his cave... maybe?
There is some development regarding Aquaman's reaction to the death of his son, and how Diana's pain parallels his.
Another plot hole is what Aquaman was trying to accomplish against the "Sea Cyclops" using the magic lasso, his hook, and his telepathy.
The story as a whole was pretty good, but the second half certainly let down the great beginning.
